The only thing that got me through a hard year once was a rotation of comfort movies.
Something's Gotta Give, The Holiday, Legally Blonde, all seven seasons of Gilmore Girls, and every rom-com or romance in between. An hour or two to disconnect into familiar laughter and calm, and it was exactly what my nervous system needed.
Some writing stays with us the same way: a sentence we connect with so deeply that we highlight it; a book we reach for again years later only to find a completely different sentence speaking to us this time; a journal that captures the story of who we were at a particular moment in our lives.
Have you ever opened an old journal and met a version of yourself you had forgotten?
I've always been drawn to that kind of writing, the kind that lingers after you've closed the book, that helps you put words to something you've felt for a long time but could never quite explain, that becomes part of your own story.
Over the years, I found pieces of it in many places, in books that invited reflection, journals that held seasons of my life, letters that felt deeply personal, and times of silence that became easier to understand once put into words. Eventually, I wanted one place where those experiences could live together.
Naturalist Way is that place.
A publishing house I founded to hold it. Here you'll find my Writings, Letters, Journal Collections, and Meditation Collections. Writings begin with everyday moments and the recognitions they can hold. Letters are more personal, closer to the conversations I'd have with a friend. Journal Collections are created to be written in; a place to gather your own thoughts, reflections, and experiences over time. Meditation Collections offer another way to spend time with the same ideas, deepening the experience through guided reflection.
Everything published here is created with the hope that it will be kept, the kind of writing that meets us differently over the years as our lives change.
I hope you'll visit often; there will always be something new waiting for you.
